COD4 Role Guidelines Empty COD4 Role Guidelines

Post by Barmelo Sat Jan 19, 2008 4:26 pm

Me and Ad have decided between us that the clan needs roles for players when playing COD4. It might sound stupid now but i know that more than one clan use this system. The reason we're doing this is because there are too many people doing the same job in a game and it dosen't help. Here are the guidelines, seee which one you fit in first and then choose another role as backup.
Thanks.

Rifleman
- Competent user of more than one type of automatic weapon (SMG, Assault Rifle, LMG). A minimmum of 2 per game is needed.

Sniper - Experienced user of ALL sniper rifles. All users of this role equip the 'iron lungs' perk (if possible). A maximum of two snipers are needed per game.

Grenadier - Competent user of grenades (Frag, Smoke, Flash & Stun). Minimum of two per game. Players in this role use the Frag X3 perk (if possible). Players in this role will be expected to help the bomb carrier by providing smoke cover.

Heavy Weapons - Competent user of LMG & Shotgun. Maximum of of ONE per game. C4 or Claymores should be equiped at all times.

Post your roles in the other topic and you're final roles will be decided by Thursday next week [24.01.08].

P.S. All 'full time' players will need to download Skype. www.skype.com and get yourselves a headset and dongle for your PC because without it the team dosen't work as well.

Skype helps but if you cant afford a headset or you pc is too far away you won't get kicked.

PS I will have one of the sniper roles. Smile

If we go for a role do we have to play that role all the time?. Out of the list i would probably go Rifleman, but there would probably be times when i wanted to snipe.

More or less m8*, if we know what everyone is going to be we won't have 4-5 snipers in S&D and 1 going for it.

Obviously if you have overkill you can do 2 jobs as a sniper and assualt. However if you are primarily an assualt guy you shouldn't sit in the snipers position, if you get what I'm saying.

It's just we have people sniping with an assualt rifle in sniping positions where the sniper is obviously more equipped to position himself. Smile

Your good enough to have one of the sniper roles anyway mate as your very accurate. Smile

From now on though I will mostly be selecting a sniper rifle as my primary weapon, when I unlock overkill I will work towards a silenced assault rifle then I can do dual roles if another guy gets killed.

It will just make it easier as everyone will know what there job is and we wont have a load of schoolboys chasing the footy like headless chickens, if you get my drift.

This system would work really well for all online games but more importantly if the clan want to play some gamebattles we will need to be better organised.

*If more of the clan were using voice comms we could possibly change roles in the lobby but with some using it and others not there is the possibility that the sniper problem could occur, which is unfair on Taz as he is usually the bomb carrier and hasn't got enough backup.

On a side note we played a clan on vacant tonight and it was the first time I have seen the lmg used for its true role, a supressing weapon. One guy was outside the entrance to A just firing away towards the back of the warehouse not aiming at anything. It was keeping me and this other guy pinned back, as intended. As he laid down the fire some of his team mates flanked and others hit us head on, it was a massacre.

As much as I hated to lose I was impressed by there organisation and teamwork, everyone of them played there part and were really good. Think they were all on voice comms too, hopefully we can acheive something similar and enjoy playing as a team and destroying all who dare to oppose us.lol
